Organization

  • The opening paragraph should establish the issue, your key concept (thesis), and the basic structure of your argument or debate.
  • The body, or main paragraphs, are separated into distinct points with supporting explanations and examples.
  • The essay comes to a conclusion with a summary of your ideas and a reasoned conclusion to your arguments or topic.
  • Aim for four to six paragraphs, including the conclusion along with introduction.
  • Keep in mind that you only have 40 minutes to compose the essay since you must also submit the Task 1 assignment within the 60 minutes allotted for this phase of the test.
